@FantomLimbPain The Wall is actually an emotional barrier. The whole movie is a representation of how he sees WWII era society in Europe, mixed with traumatic events in his life and how he responds emotionally.
Then, in the end, Outside The Wall is the closing from an outside perspective. It talks about how the people that love him can't really help him. "banging their hearts against some mad buggers wall."
