My older sis had a big crush on Fabe. I thought it was around 1957 or so tho. Then the 45s came in smaller cardboard sleeves-very scarce now. He was a nice guy I think, but couldn't hold a tune in a coal bucket!

true- but I personally wouldnt add Dion in that group, I think Dion was his own guy, and he helped the doo- wop sound. And Rick Nelson proved himself as a legitimate artist with James Burton on guitar, and he cut some great rockabilly stuff, as well as good songs in later years, as he shed his teen idol image.

I met Fabian lastnight he performed for a law enforcement benefit along with bobby vee, they are both still rockin and rollin...it was an awesome concert and it was for a great cause! THANK YOU FABIAN N BOBBY VEE!!!

Come on now, there were excellent singers that were also a lot 'poppier' than elvis, little richard and gene vincent et al back then... Bobby Vee, Ricky Nelson, Dion, Bobby Rydell etc. I agree with you that Fabian was a total phony however
